China consolidated its ranking as Iceland’s biggest trading partner in Asia in 2017, according to latest information from the website of the Icelandic Statistics Bureau (www.statice.is).  Notably Icelandic export to China surpassed that to Japan for the first time in 2017, making China the biggest Asian market for Icelandic products.  

In 2017, Icelandic exports to China stood at ISK 10,274 million, about 0.99% of Iceland’s total exports, while the imports rose to ISK 51,377 million, about 3.77% of Iceland’s total imports.  China ranks as Iceland’s 3rd biggest source of supply and 9th biggest market in 2017.
